The firm provides clinical occupational therapy expertise from both the acute and outpatient assessment, coupled with unique research abilities, a holistic review of medical records and technology resources. The Stone Life Care Planning team can add value to a case while providing comfort to injured parties and their families as they navigate the often complex medical and legal environments.
Founded by Certified Life Care Planner and Occupational Therapist, Amy Stone, MSR, the firm offers services that span interpreting medical records, creating medical timelines, defining applicable standards of care, performing detailed home assessments, creating life care plan reports, planning exhibits for court, offering expert testimony and more.
“As a seasoned occupational therapist, I have seen first hand how the collaboration of a whole medical team, community and family truly makes a client feel whole again. Becoming a certified life care planner seemed like the right next step in helping clients live their best life after an injury or debilitating illness,” stated STONE Life Care Planning Founder, Amy Stone. “I look forward to getting to know legal professionals and other medical community members who have the same goals for injured individuals.”
Stone has two decades of clinical and managerial occupational therapy experience evaluating patients and creating treatment plans for individuals with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, cerebrovascular incidents, neurological disorders, orthopedic injuries, amputations and general deconditioning. She has worked in all environments along the continuum of care including acute care hospitals, inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation centers, as well as short and long term care facilities.
Stone earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Rehabilitation from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She earned her CLCP with FIG education in Asheville, NC. She is a member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP), Johns Island Presbyterian Church and an active parent volunteer at Charleston Collegiate.
